Mendham Country Day School has a dress code for all students from PreK-3 to sixth grade. Students are to abide by the dress code whether in school or on a field trip.
All Students
During the month of September and after May 1st students may wear the summer uniform.
From October 1st through April 31st the regular school uniform is in effect.
All shoes must have rubber soles.
Students may choose to, but do not need to, have the school logo embroidered on their clothing. This is not mandatory but it is the only type of writing / embroidery/ advertising that may be on any clothing.
No jeans or cargo pants. Pants must be neat, clean, fit properly, and be in good repair.
No hats are to be worn indoors.
Students may wear a watch, without an alarm, medical ID necklace or bracelet, religious metals. Plain gold or silver post earrings are acceptable for girls. No other jewelry may be worn.
Boots or shoe-boots may not be worn in class.
ALL shirts must be tucked in at all times.
Boys
Tan slacks of the dress variety are to be worn. Slacks must fit properly and they must be worn with a belt or suspenders. NO jean or cargo type slacks or denim of any color. Slacks must be neat, clean, and hemmed, and in good repair. Underwear should not be seen.
Navy socks are to worn with brown, beige, or navy loafers, bucks or mocs. Athletic shoes and socks may be worn in physical education classes or during recess only.
Navy sport coat with a white turtleneck or white oxford, long-sleeved, button-down dress shirt.
A navy sweater (crew, vest, cardigan) may be worn under or in place of the sport coat.
Hair should be neat, clean, and attractive. Hair must not touch the top of the shirt collar.
Girls
Khaki skort, skirt, slacks, or jumper is to be worn. NO jean or cargo type slacks or skirts of any color. All items listed should be of appropriate length, neat, clean, and in good repair.
Navy or white knee socks or tights with navy, brown, or beige loafers, bucks, T-straps, or mocs. Athletic shoes and socks may be worn in physical education classes or during recess only.
White turtleneck, white oxford long-sleeved shirt, or white short-sleeved with Peter Pan collar is to be worn.
A navy sweater (crew, vest, cardigan, or twin set) may worn.
Hair should be neat, clean, and attractive. Hair should not fall in the face or eyes. Only navy, white, or tan hair ribbons may be worn. Silver or gold hair barrettes may also be worn.
Summer Uniform This uniform can be worn in the month of September and from May first until the end of the school year.

Physical Education Uniform (Early Kindergarten through 6th grade) Students may not wear their physical education uniform to school. All students need to bring their uniform on gym days and change into it before gym class. The only writing that may be on any part of the gym uniform is the Mendham Country Day School logo.
