This summer program allows students entering Kindergarten through 7th grade to enhance their math, writing, and / or reading skills. These courses are taught by Certified and experienced Mendham Country Day School Educators. These courses run in two week Sessions from 9:00a.m.-11:00a.m. each day. Students are welcome to join the Summer Adventure class before and after any Summer Academy classes they are registered for.
Students will either preview upcoming concepts, or review concepts from the most recent school year. Each child’s program is designed around their strengths and weaknesses based on the student’s recent report card, testing, and parent input.
Students will work through the writing process as a way to improve and expand their writing skills. This program is great for emerging writers, as well as those looking to prepare for future Essay writing. Using a phonetic approach, students will work to increase their decoding skills, fluency, and comprehension. There will also be a focus on vocabulary building, the use of context clues, and summarizing what has been read.
